2024 Theme:

Notable names, Prominent People, & Places
The Plainfield Grand Rogue Historical Society has planned a very special exhibit this year to represent the Tri-River theme. Our obvious choice for a Prominent Person is Dr. William Hyser, who built the home that has been re-purposed as the Hyser Rivers Museum. As we focus on the Places Dr. Hyser lived with his family, we will research and present information, pictures, and displays about his life in Plainfield Village, where he practiced medicine from 1850 until his death in 1909.
We’re also excited to present information for the first time about his Civil War experiences, with photos from the battlegrounds where he fought.

Documents and Photos

Plainfield Grand Rogue Historical Society Secretary, Sue Irvine, has meticulously indexed thousands of documents and photos into folders. The index, and often many of the materials, can be accessed HERE.

Tri-River Historical Museum Network Annual Theme Project

Every year we look forward to localizing to Plainfield Charter Township the new theme we explore with our 33 museum colleagues in the network.

2024 is focused on:
Notable names, Prominent People & Places
